Went to Mesa Verde National Park today, about an hour west of Durango.  The drive to the park wasn't too bad, but once inside the hairpin curves and steep grades going up and down were a bit scary at times.  They don't have guard rails in many places that really need them.  You have to wonder if anyone ever goes over the side going too fast around one of those curves!  We stopped at the Visitor's Center and looked at the different exhibits they had there, then had lunch across the road at the cafe before going on to look at the rest of the park and the cliff dwellings.  They have guided tours through some of the sites, but they all said climbing ladders and 100s of steps, so we decided to just go on our own.  We went to see the Spruce Treehouse dwelling, but was a long walk going downhill, then uphill back so we just took some pictures from a distance lol   Also saw some wild horses, but didn't get pictures of them.  Larry keeps hoping to catch sight of an elk, they have signs all over the road to watch for them, but we haven't seen one yet!  This connection here at the campground we're at doesn't like to upload pictures, so will only try a few then next week when we move on I'll try to load more.

Not sure what we'll be doing tomorrow, have to do laundry again one of these days soon.  We're renting a jeep on Tuesday and going to do some trails going up into the mountains.  Between now and then... no plans lol  Will find something to do, I'm sure.
