Today we left Colorado Springs and have landed at the KOA in Alamosa, Co.  We were on the road 3 - 4 hours, nearly 200 miles.... and can you believe there was not one McDonald's on that stretch??  Not one!  Actually, there wasn't much of anything lol  But at home there's a McDonald's at every other exit if not every one.  We were really missing our sweet tea by the time we got settled in and had a chance to go into town in search of those golden arches ha!

The drive wasn't too bad.  We had one mountain pass to go through and ended up it wasn't too bad.  We stopped by the side of the road on the way and there was a family from Missouri that stopped right behind us.  It's something to look at all the license plates and see how far some people travel.  We've seen plates from all over.....Florida, Massachusetts, Wisconsin, and on our trip up Pike's Peak we were sitting with 2 couples from New York.  We've gone 1,500 miles since leaving St. Charles... can't imagine how many those New Yorkers have traveled!

Here are a few pictures of our road trip today....

Here's a picture of our spot at the KOA.
This is a picture of our view -
And last, but not least, a picture of Larry and his truck... and his new hat. lol
We'll be here until Thursday.  Places to see include the Great Sand Dunes National Park, the Colorado Gator Park, Zapata Falls, and there are a few wildlife refuge places we'd like to visit.  Looks like a busy couple of days!
